It is the process of critically evaluating content and assessing whether it meets your objectives. It includes evaluating the structure, style, tone, and evidence. When editing, we are aiming to improve the sense and logic of your material. 

On completion

Once we have completed the editing process, we return your original document along with the edited version.

• ensure that no content can be misconstrued

Proofing is the tickety-boo check

It is the final check we do before publication and printing. Proofing is done after the editing, essentially as a second part of the editing process. 

The proofing process

The proofing process is used to identify any of the following. As a minimum, we: 

• check for punctuation and grammatical errors
• check for spelling errors, or incorrect word use; typos 
• check for incorrect referencing standard, or references 
• check for inconsistent formatting or formatting errors
• check content against required style guide

Coherent and compliant

As an example, an incorrect version or spelling of a word/s may have been overlooked during the drafting of the content; in this case, efficient, and objective proofing, will identify the error/s.

Checks formatting

Proofing your content will also make sure that formatting standards, the style guide, and other specific requirements have been adhered to.  

On completion 

Once we have completed the proofreading process, we return your original document along with the proofed version.
